The Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region (COPPeR) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) local arts agency whose mission is “connecting residents and visitors with arts & culture to enrich the Pikes Peak region.” Governed by an engaged Board of Directors, and with the leadership and passion of a small but dedicated staff, our work at the Cultural Office is all about elevating the visibility, value and impact of the creative sector here in our community.

The Cultural Office takes a strategic view of Colorado’s Pikes Peak region (El Paso and Teller Counties) to ensure that cultural services reach all people, and that the arts are used to positively address issues of economic development, education, tourism, regional branding and civic life. We provide an umbrella service encompassing areas such as marketing and communication, broad-based data gathering, strategic planning and programming, and advocacy for our creative sector in its entirety.

In response to the COVID-19/coronavirus outbreak, many local arts groups are now showcasing their content on digital platforms. Peak Radar Virtual aggregates this video/streaming content, no matter what platform our local arts groups utilize, allowing you to stay connected to our arts community even when practicing social distancing. Below, you will find the highlights from our current 5-year Strategic Plan, including the mission, vision and goals that will continue to guide our organization through 2020.

Our Mission

Connecting residents and visitors with arts & culture to enrich the Pikes Peak region.

Our Vision

A thriving community united by creativity.

Our Goals

  • Cultivate robust participation in arts & cultural experiences throughout the Pikes Peak region
  • Advocate for investment in the region’s cultural vitality
  • Leverage arts & cultural assets to help brand our community as an innovative and vibrant destination
  • Foster collaboration and cross-sector partnerships

As the region’s designated local arts agency, we aim to efficiently and cost-effectively achieve immeasurably more than any one gallery, poet, or performance group could do independently. The arts are an ecosystem – and at the Cultural Office, we want to ensure that all parts of that ecosystem are healthy, thriving and fully integrated into the fabric of our community.

In this interview with KCME 88.7 FM’s “Culture Zone”, we discuss our organization’s role in the region and upcoming projects in 2020:
